Pulse Molecular Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data we process when you visit pulsemolecular.com or get in touch with us, why we process it, who receives it and what rights you have. We keep it short because this website collects very little.

Pulse Molecular is a brand of Pulse Enterprise Limited, a company incorporated in Hong Kong. We handle personal data in line with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance of Hong Kong (Cap. 486) and, where it applies to visitors in the European Union or the European Economic Area, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

I. Who is responsible

Pulse Enterprise Limited is responsible for the personal data processed through this website (the data user under the Ordinance and the controller under the GDPR). Our address is given at the end of this policy.

II. Personal data we process

Visiting the website. When you open a page, your browser sends technical data to our hosting provider: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page, and your browser and operating system. This is needed to deliver the page and to protect the website against attacks. We do not use this data to identify you or to build profiles.

Visitor statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand which pages are read. According to Cloudflare, it does not use cookies, does not store anything on your device and does not fingerprint your browser. We only see aggregated figures such as page views, visits, referring pages, country, browser, operating system, device type and loading times.

Contacting us. If you write to us by email or through the contact form, we process your name, your email address, your organisation if you give it, and the content of your message.

We do not ask for sensitive personal data. Please do not send health information or other sensitive details through the contact form or by email.

III. Why we process personal data

We process technical data to deliver and secure the website, aggregated statistics to improve it, and contact details and messages to reply to you and to prepare and manage a possible collaboration. We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.

Where the GDPR applies, our legal bases are our legitimate interests in running a secure and useful website and in answering enquiries (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), and steps you ask us to take before entering into an agreement (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Giving us your name, email address and message is voluntary, but we need them to reply to you. Fields marked as optional can be left empty.

IV. Who receives personal data

Only the members of our team who handle your enquiry. We use service providers who process data on our behalf: Cloudflare, Inc. for hosting, security and visitor statistics, and an email service provider for our mailboxes and for delivering contact form messages. They may only use the data to provide their service to us.

We disclose personal data to authorities only where the law requires it.

V. International transfers

Our team works from Hong Kong and from the European Union, and Cloudflare operates a global network, including in the United States. Personal data may therefore be processed outside the place where you live. Where data from the European Union or the European Economic Area is transferred to a country without an adequacy decision, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

VI. How long we keep personal data

Technical data is kept by our hosting provider only for as long as needed for delivery and security. Statistics are aggregated and do not identify you.

We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to deal with your request and any follow-up. If no collaboration results, we delete them no later than 24 months after our last contact. If we work together, we keep correspondence for as long as the relationship lasts and as required by law.

VII. How we protect personal data

The website is only available over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to our mailboxes and service accounts is limited to the people who need it.

VIII. Cookies and similar technologies

This website does not set cookies and does not use local storage or similar technologies on your device. Fonts and images are served from our own website, not from third-party servers. If this ever changes, we will update this policy before it does.

IX. Your choices and rights

Under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance you may ask whether we hold personal data about you, request a copy and ask us to correct it. We respond to such requests within 40 days. The Ordinance allows a fee for a copy that is not excessive; we will tell you in advance if one applies.

Where the GDPR applies, you also have the right to have your data erased, to restrict or object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and to receive your data in a portable format.

To exercise these rights, write to us using the details below. You may also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data in Hong Kong or, in the European Union, to the data protection authority where you live or work.

X. Children

This website is aimed at businesses and researchers, not at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

XI. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our website or our processing changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
